The feast of St Catherine of Alexandria is being celebrated at Zurrieq today. At 8.30 a.m. the St Catherine Band will accompany Mgr George Deguara from Dun Guzepp Zammit Street to Republic Square. At 9.15 a.m. Tierce will be sung followed by a pontifical concelebrated Mass, led by Mgr Deguara. Canon George Bezzina, parish priest of Fontana, Gozo, will deliver the panegyric.

From 5.30 p.m. onwards, the St Mary Band of Qrendi, 12th May Band of Zebbug and the King's Own Band will take part in the outdoor celebrations. At 6 p.m. Pontifical Second Vespers will be followed by the procession with the statue and relic of St Catherine. The antiphon and Eucharistic celebration will conclude the indoor festivities.

At 11 p.m. the St Catherine Band will play marches from Pietru Pawl Saydon Street to Republic Square. There will be a fireworks display during the procession.
