Two young men were injured when the scaffolding they were using to decorate a street in Xaghra, Gozo, was hit by a car at about 2 a.m. yesterday.
The accident happened when the youths were on the scaffolding in 8th September Street putting up decorations for the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady.
The police said that at one point an Isuzu pickup driven by a 42-year-old man from Xaghra hit the scaffolding causing it to topple over, causing the youths to fell to the ground.
The two were rushed to hospital where one of them was found to be badly injured but not in any danger.
The other youth was discharged after treatment for slight injuries.
