Birkirkara FC have just announced that midfielder Paul Fenech has agreed a new three-year contract.

Fenech had fallen out with Birkirkara amid reports that he had turned down the club’s offer to sign a new deal as he was eyeing a move to Valletta but fresh negotiations between the two parties in the last few days have led to an agreement.

In a statement posted on their website, Birkirkara announced that Fenech has agreed to extend his stay with the club by another three years.

Fenech’s decision to remain with Birkirkara represents a massive boost for the club ahead of their FA Trophy semi-final against Valletta on Saturday.

Also this week, goalkeeper Justin Haber and Rowen Muscat signed new deals with Birkirkara.
