During the first quarter of 2003, just under 600,000 passengers used the Malta-Gozo ferries, a decrease of 3.8 per cent over the same period the year before.

The total number of vehicles carried was up by two per cent to just under 170,000.

In the first quarter, 4,228 trips were made, a decrease of 8.1 per cent compared with the same period last year, when 4,602 trips were made. In the first quarter of 2001 4,506 trips were made.
