The Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD) is holding a 40-hour course entitled "Human factors at work: how to manage people and their emotions more effectively", to be delivered by Dr Paul Micallef, clinical psychologist and consultant/adviser on staff training and retraining.
The course, to take place over 10 four-hour sessions - February 15 and 22, March 8, 12, 15, 22 and 29; April 19 and 26; and May 3 - will be held between 3 and 7 p.m. at the FHRD premises at 1, Triq il-Kampanella, San Gwann.
This is a unique course as it does not only address aspects of how to manage people effectively, but also how to manage people's emotions, which could impact their performance and how they relate with each other.
To encourage those in a managerial role to attend this course, FHRD is granting a 20 per cent discount on course fees, both to members and non-members, should a company send two or more people.
The course will include Self care, Advanced communication skills; Individual performance management; Team building; Strategy with a human twist; Change management; Addressing intergenerational patterns of (mis)management; Developing others; and Reflective assignment.
The objective of the course is to help both newly appointed and experienced managers and their assistants understand how they can better manage complex human related issues at work that in turn have an impact on results and competence.
