The first Malta Airgun Shooting Club event of the year was held last weekend at the Victoria Shooting Range, Handaq.

The national field target event consisted of 30 shots by each competitor. There were drop down targets with distances varying between 15 and 50 metres.

Fifteen shooters took part in a competition of high scores which was won by Gordon Gouder ahead of Alfred Cini and Rene Scorfna.

Points from this competition will be added to three other similar events in the 2008 field target series this season.

The final will be held later on this year.

The next event on the club's calendar is an air-pistol steel plate shoot on February 17, also at the Handaq range.
