A Gzira teenager was conditionally discharged after he pleaded guilty to filing a false report with the police in December, 1998.

The youth, aged 16, who was arraigned together with a 15-year-old, was also charged with giving false particulars to the police.

In passing judgement, the court, presided by Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani Grima, noted that the youth had admitted to the charges and considered both the age when the crime was committed and the fact that this was his first offence.

Inspector Pierre Micallef Grimaud prosecuted.
