A refugee was yesterday conditionally discharged for a year after he admitted to filing a false report to the police.

After taking note of the circumstances of the case and the clean criminal record of the accused - Khalil Mohamed Morzak, 30, a resident of St Paul's Bay - Magistrate Silvio Meli handed down a conditional discharge.

Police Inspector Anthony Portelli prosecuted.

Dr Renzo Porsella-Flores appeared for Mr Morzak.
