Kevin Attard is exhibiting a collection of paintings and items made of filigree, metal-work and ceramics in the upper halls of The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce in Valletta.
His paintings dominate three of the four halls at the MSAMC.
The first hall however, hosts a small collective exhibition by peers and contemporary artists, such as Michael Falzon, Josephine Cachia, Chris Muscat, Sean Decelis, Victor Agius, Winston Hassell, Denise Micallef and Charles Palmier.
Interestingly, Mr Attard is depicted in a number of the paintings by these artists, as he customarily models for other artists to paint.
Mr Attard is a self-taught artist who has been painting for roughly five years even though he has been doing work in filigree for over 20 years, a craft and skill which he inherited from his father.
The majority of his paintings are non-representational, acting as a contrast to the "discipline, continuation and symmetry" of filigree.
They all left untitled and uncaptioned, allowing for visitors to formulate opinions and impressions, although he has chosen to include spontaneous prosaic/poetic thoughts and phrases related to some of his paintings.
The exhibition runs till the end of this month.
