Everyone at St Cecilia's Kindergarten in Attard was kept busy this term organising and (the little ones) taking part in annual events, such as Sports Day and the End of Year Concert which were both a great success.

Sports Day was held in the grounds at St Edward's College on Friday, May 14. All the children at St Cecilia's Kindergarten were encouraged to take part.

The youngest children (two- to three-year-olds) imitated their teachers while standing on their spots, and took part in a series of keep fit exercises to music finally accompanied by some songs on tape played by Mrs J. Vella Bardon that incorporate words and physical exercises.

The energy and ability of these young children was enjoyed by all, especially their enthusiastic relatives and friends.

These exercises were followed by the three-, four- and five-year-olds taking part in various races, starting with a well-rehearsed march carrying the school flags and marching to the music.

The potato race, hoola hoop and hurdle races were especially enjoyed by the young participants showing their enthusiasm as they all worked hard to win the races. At the end, Mrs Anna Tabone, head of the Junior School at St Edward's College, presented the tiny tots with a well-deserved medal for their participation.

On May 25, the annual school concert was held with every group presenting their favourite songs. The children all came across as really confident and very well rehearsed, and they enjoyed themselves so much the audience seemed radiant with delight to see their little ones so comfortable on stage.

The last presentation during the show was made by the five-year-olds, who all took part in Little Red Riding Hood. The speaking parts were so plainly addressed by the children that the entire play was completely understood and the intermittent songs, further enhanced by the accompaniment of Mrs Christine Von Brockdorff, really made a most enjoyable concert.

Since then, the school organised another outing for the children to Ta' Qali and on June 21, a Thanksgiving Mass was held at the Attard parish church, officiated by the parish priest, Fr Dione, for the children and their parents.

A school party later that week closes the chapter of another year at St Cecilia's Kindergarten. This year another kindergarten will be opening in Tarxien, organising the same activities and events as its sister school in Attard.
