Fire breaks out in flat on Sliema's Triq Manwel Dimech

Neighbours were evacuated as a precaution

A fire broke out at a flat on Triq Manwel Dimech in Sliema on Tuesday afternoon.

Civil Protection officials were called to the third floor apartment at 3.15pm and the fire was put out within an hour.

Neighbours were evacuated as a precaution but there were no injuries, a CPD spokesperson confirmed. 

According to Facebook group Malta Road Traffic Updates, the road was closed as officials fought the fire. It is expected to reopen soon.
