A fire was reported on Wednesday evening at a room at the abandoned Paloma Hostel in Buġibba.

The hostel was in the news earlier this year when it was raided by immigration police and public health officials. 

Some 120 migrants living there had been evicted.

Firefighters from the Civil Protection Department were called on site to put out the fire, the police said.

No one was inside.
