Foreign Affairs Minister Tonio Borg is in Montenegro, becoming the first Foreign Minister to pay an official visit to that country.

He will be meeting his counterpart, Milan Rochen with whom Dr Borg will discuss relations between the two countries and EU affairs.

Montenegro first formed part of the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro following the break-up of the former Yugoslavia.

However, in 2006, the country gained independence and split with Serbia peacefully.

Dr Borg will also visit Croatia for talks with Foreign and European Affairs Minister Jadranka Kosor.

They are expected to discuss investment opportunities, tourism, culture and financial services.
