A Belgian-flagged fishing vessel capsized in freezing waters in the English Channel killing two crew members, the UK Coastguard said yesterday.

The Coastguard said one of the four-member crew had been rescued and two bodies recovered. All of the seafarers are thought to be Belgian nationals. The ship overturned 18 kilometres south of Beachy Head early yesterday.

A Royal Navy warship, Coastguard helicopter, lifeboat and a merchant ship assisted at the scene.
