Fishing marathon

On behalf of the Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija I would like to thank the organisers of this year's fishing marathon in aid of our charity.

The Kingfisher Sports Fishing Association this year organised their seventh fishing marathon to raise funds for Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija. The marathon lasted 48 hours; 44 anglers divided into 11 teams participated.

The anglers, volunteers and stalls raised over Lm2,500 which will go towards the construction of the new multi-sensory project at the Razzett. We therefore take this opportunity to thank them all for their great help, and the committee for giving all the proceeds to our organisation. Our heartfelt thanks also go to the public who helped raise funds throughout the marathon.

Special thanks go to the main sponsor of the event: Mister Fish. Also to the Busy Bee who provided the fishermen with food throughout the marathon, Nexos Light Technology, Sliema council, Sliema police station, Hotel Fortina and the Howard Johnson Diplomat Hotel.

We also take this opportunity to thank all those who provided entertainment free of charge on Saturday and Sunday night, Toussaint Attard, the stage manager, and the comperes of the show, Sylvana Attard and Ivan Gaffiero. We would also like to express our appreciation to the staff and volunteers of the Razzett who helped over the weekend.
