Five divers rescued in rough seas in Gozo

Civil Protection Malta and AFM carried out a coordinated rescue operation

Five divers were rescued by the Armed Forces of Malta and the Civil Protection Department on Sunday after finding themselves in difficulty off Qbajjar, Gozo. 

In a statement, a coordinated rescue operation involving the Civil Protection Malta and AFM was immediately launched after they were informed that five divers were unable to return to shore following a dive. 

Rescue teams from Fire Stations 6 and 7 were dispatched to the scene, where all five divers were successfully located and brought safely back to land.

 

The Civil Protection Department extends its appreciation to all responding entities for their swift coordination, professionalism, and assistance throughout the operation.
