Five hotels are due to open this year providing a total of 1,844 beds, Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech said in reply to a parliamentary question yesterday by Noel Farrugia (MLP).

He said the hotels were the Cavalieri, with 500 beds, the Golden Sands, 642 beds; Le Meridien St Julians, 350; the Fortina extension, 300 and the Dragon, 52 beds. All were classified four star except the Dragon, which will be three star.
