Five service dogs graduate at San Anton Palace

Their training costs €15,000 each

Five service dogs that graduated from a €15,000 training programme have been assigned to people with different conditions to help them out in their daily lives.

The graduation ceremony for Balto, Dom, Sam, Pablo and Kaydi was held at the San Anton Palace and was presided over by President Myriam Spiteri Debono.

The Service Dogs Malta Foundation covered all training expenses of Balto and Kaydi, who will assist people with mobility issues. Dom and Pablo, also funded by the foundation, will assist a person who has diabetes and an individual who was diagnosed with a psychiatric condition.

Sam, whose expenses were covered by the government, has been assigned to a seven-year-old autistic girl.

Sam was trained to see to the girl's specific needs and will provide her with the security and emotional stability she requires.
