Five people were hospitalised from the Nadur carnival, according to the Gozo branch of the Malta Red Cross.

A total of 32 people were given assistance, including 18 who were drunk. Other cases involved severe asthma, stomach upsets, cuts and bruises, as well as two head injuries. Another person was admitted to hospital with a fractured arm.

The organisation made use of mobile teams, a medical car, three ambulances and a rescue vehicle.

The Red Cross also offered its services at the Xewkija, Xagħra and Sannat carnival celebrations.
