Flamenco dancer Francesca (Cikka) Grima will be the star performer at Puerto Flamenco on Saturday at the Caraffa Stores on the Vittoriosa Waterfront.

For the last four years, Ms Grima has lived in Triana, an ancient Seville port on the river Guadalquivir, traditionally a poor suburb of passing sailors and settled Andalucian gypsies. It is a cradle of flamenco.

Ms Grima and her husband Andrej Vujicic, also a flamenco performer, have worked with two Trianeros, singer José El Tremendo and gypsy guitarist Joselito Acedo in theatres and prestigious festivals in Spain and elsewhere on the continent. Now they have come to another port town, Vittoriosa, where they will perform in the intimate, historic surroundings of the Caraffa Stores, where the Caravaggio exhibition is being held until the end of this month.

Tickets for the performance may be bought from St James Cavalier (21 223216 - opening hours 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Sunday).
