This is what Bastion Street, Senglea, looks like when it rains. It takes several days until all the water slowly seeps into the ground.
Blocked water culverts make matters much worse. The street surface is in such awful condition that several large potholes accumulate mud.
The underside of certain cars has been damaged as a result, and water has even found its way into nearby garages. It seems the local council has been unsuccessful in its efforts to convince the competent authorities to do the job properly once and for all.
Meanwhile, residents have to endure endless discomfort. We urge the local council to seal the massive potholes until the government gives the matter the attention it deserves.
