Floriana's busy summer recruitment continued on Thursday as they announced the signing of Argentine forward Augusto Caseres.

The prolific striker is the third former Senglea Athletic player to join the Greens this summer after midfield duo Diego Venancio and Matias Garcia and will reunite with his former coach Vincenzo Potenza who is now at the helm at Floriana.

The 21-year-old Caseres was on the books of Senglea Athletic for the past two season and was one of the star performers for the Cottonera outfit as they successfully retained their top-flight status.

Last season Caseres collected 20 appearances with Senglea, scoring eight goals in the process.

In 2017/18 season, he played 18 matches scoring six goals in all competitions.

The Argentine’s fine form in the second part of the past season was also recognised when he was awarded the January 2019 BOV Player of the Month award.
