During the official visit, the Prime Minister addressed two business fora organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) on the theme "Malta - A Partner for Chinese Companies in Europe and the Mediterranean".
At these fora, held in Beijing and Shanghai, presentations were also delivered by Mr Zammit Tabona and other officials from State corporations.
During his address, Mr Zammit Tabona introduced the Malta Federation of Industry, explaining its role and functions. He also outlined Malta's economic activity and development in the context of the European and international dimension.

These business fora were well attended by Chinese business operators, who also held one-to-one meetings, arranged by CCPIT, with members of the Maltese delegation.
The delegation comprised a number of FOI council members and representatives of FOI member companies, including Helga Ellul (managing director of Playmobil (Malta) Ltd.), David Mifsud (managing director of Methode Electronics Malta Ltd.), Anthony Diacono (director of Dustech Ltd), Louis A. Farrugia (managing director of Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.) and Frederick Schembri (purchasing, logistics and warehousing manager of Pharmamed Ltd.).
