If listening to folk singing under the stars on a clear summer night is what you sometimes dream of, ir-Razzett tal-Markiz in Mosta will have Frans Baldacchino, known as il-Budaj, as its guest next Friday at 8 p.m.

The master folk singer will also be reciting a number of his poems.

A typical Maltese farmhouse, ir-Razzett is currently hosting an exhibition of paintings with a Marian theme with works by Anton Agius, Alfred Briefa, Mark Schembri, George Apap, Joe Micallef, Savoi Seguna, Mario Caffaro Roe and Chris Zarb.

Also being exhibited are a wooden scale model of the Mosta Rotunda made by Giovann Muscat complete with electrical illumination (picture) and a matchstick model of the old church of Mosta made by Joe Spiteri.

The Razzett tal-Markiz, which is managed and maintained by Ghaqda Filantropika Talent Mosti, is open daily between 6 and 9 p.m. and entrance is free. These cultural activities are carried out with the collaboration of the head teacher and council of the Lily of the Valley school.
