Fr Joseph Bajada of Xagħra was recently installed parish priest of Fontana. The parish, founded in 1911, is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Fr Bajada left his home for Xagħra parish church where he, together with priests and other guests, offered prayers. Fr Bajada then proceeded to Victoria and stopped at the Sacred Heart Seminary, where he was vice-rector for the past four years.

At the chapel he sang the morning prayers presided over by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, with the participation of seminarians. From there he proceded to Fontana parish, where he was welcomed by mayor Saviour Borg, priests and parishioners, followed by the installation ceremony, including Mass, led by Mgr Grech.
