I refer to an article on the Health Department's worry (October 15) about the computerised food intolerance test.
This is to say that the food intolerance test by Versal worked well for me. Having an underlying health condition, I had a stomach ailment for over a year. It was somewhat debilitating and I saw several excellent doctors.
Finally I had an out-patient operation that included a biopsy to see what really was going on. The operation tested negative for food intolerance, but the ailment continued. I heard about Versal from a satisfied friend, but it sounded like quackery to me. Still, when in need, one tries everything. I made an appointment twice to go there, but each time cancelled it. The third time I went, I had the (interesting) diagnostic test and was told there was a range of foods I should not eat, including all wheat products.
I was told that my symptoms would improve in three weeks. The diet was difficult at first, and the symptoms did not improve in three weeks. Nevertheless, I continued it and in four months the condition completely disappeared.
I tested the whole thing this summer after a year had passed, resolving that taking a bit of those forbidden foods would not hurt, that perhaps it was all coincidence and that I could go back to my old ways. After about a week on those foods all the symptoms came back. This has been my experience.
