Saints player to appeal three-month ban

Birżebbuġa St Peter's player Chris Bernard Farrugia intends to appeal against a three-month ban imposed by the Malta FA Disciplinary Commissioner this week following his red card in a hot-tempered Division Two match at the Centenary Stadium last weekend.

Defender Farrugia was one of three Saints players dismissed by referee Gordon Barbara after Gżira United were awarded two late penalties to turn the result in their favour and win the top-of-the-table match 3-2.

Farrugia was banned from football until April 26.
