Juventus forward Amauri has brushed aside speculation that he will leave the Turin outfit this summer. Reports in Italy have linked Amauri with a move to Milan after a disappointing season with the Bianconeri.

"I want to forget this campaign and prove my true value to those that have criticised me and want me to leave," said the 29-year-old.

"I will not leave, I am 99 per cent certain."

Amauri is looking forward to the arrival of former Sampdoria coach Luigi Del Neri who has succeeded Alberto Zaccheroni.

"I have a great rapport with Del Neri," said Amauri. "We worked together at Chievo in 2003 and 2004."

Bresciano turns down Saudi move

Australia midfielder Mark Bresciano has denied he has signed a contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr but has conceded he will not be playing for Palermo next season.

The midfielder's contract with the Sicilians runs out in the summer and it had been widely reported last week that he had agreed a deal to join his former boss Walter Zenga at the ambitious Saudi club.

"That deal won't be going through," he said.

"Things have been said in the papers that aren't true. I'm still a free agent. I'm just concentrating on the World Cup and hopefully I'll stay in Europe."

Berlusconi hints at Galli appointment

Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has hinted that youth-team director Filippo Galli could be the club's next first-team coach.

The 47-year-old Galli, a former Rossoneri defender, currently heads the club's youth academy at Milanello and worked as a technical assistant to Leonardo last term.

Berlusconi said: "When it comes to selecting a coach, Milan considers very important the experience at youth level, because it develops a coach a lot from a psychological standpoint."

Milan are looking for a new man at the helm after first-year coach Leonardo parted company with the club last weekend.

Birmingham sign goalkeeper Foster

Birmingham signed goalkeeper Ben Foster from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee yesterday.

Foster agreed a three-year contract with the Premier League team after deciding he needed to leave Old Trafford to further his career.

The 27-year-old former Stoke shot-stopper was unable to displace regular United number one Edwin van der Sar and even lost his place on the bench to Tomasz Kuszczak following some disappointing displays this season.

Foster, who has won four England caps, played only nine times for United this season and that lack of action cost him a place in Fabio Capello's provisional World Cup squad.

Inter deny Benitez contact

Inter have dismissed reports they have approached Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez about the possibility of replacing Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho has been linked with a summer move to Real Madrid, should the Spanish club part company with Manuel Pellegrini, and will make a decision on his future after Saturday's Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

When asked about Benitez, Inter sporting director Marco Branca told Sky Italia: "We absolutely have had no contact with Benitez. Our coach is Jose Mourinho."

Benitez has also been linked with the Juventus hotseat in recent months but the Turin giants yesterday appointed former Samp-doria tactician Luigi Del Neri.

We have nothing to fear - Walcott

Theo Walcott insists England have "nothing to fear" at this summer's World Cup.

With nine victories from their 10 qualifying games, the Three Lions have improved markedly since Fabio Capello took charge.

"We have to believe we can win the tournament," he said.

"Obviously Spain are one of the big favourites. They won the European Championships and that was a great achievement.

"But we have nothing to fear because we've got some fantastic players. If you look at the way we qualified, it shows that those individuals are playing together as a team.

"We just want to go one step further at the World Cup and bring it back for the fans."

Egypt forced to play away from home

Egypt will have to play the first two home matches of their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign at least 100 kilometres from Cairo as punishment for security failings ahead of last November's clash with Algeria.

FIFA's disciplinary committee also decided to impose a fine of 100,000 Swiss francs (approx €71,000) on the Egyptian FA at their meeting in Zurich yesterday.

The sanctions come following the EFA's failure to "take all the necessary security precautions to ensure the safety of the Algerian delegation, as well as security and order in the Cairo International Stadium" for the 2010 World Cup qualifier against Algeria on November 14.
