A 33-year-old foreigner was grievously injured when he fell off a crane's ladder in Burmarrad Street, Burmarrad, at around 1.30 p.m.

The police said that the man had to be helped by the Civil Protection Department.

He was then taken to hospital by ambulance and officers from the Occupational Health and Safety Authority were called to inspect the site of the accident.

An inquiry is being held by Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera.
