Foreigners outnumber Maltese residents in St Julian's, Msida and Gzira

Almost twice as many foreigners as Maltese in Msida

Foreigners outnumber Maltese people almost two to one in Msida, and there are also more foreigners than Maltese residents in St Julian's and Gzira, data given in parliament shows.  

There were 10,655 foreigners and 5,954 Maltese residents in Msida in 2024, Finance Minister Clyde Caruana told Nationalist MP Graziella Attard Previ in reply to parliamentary questions.

In neighbouring Gzira there were 7,206 foreign residents compared to 4,848 Maltese.

At St Julian's there were 8,698 foreigners and 6,510 Maltese according to 2024 NSO figures. 

Attard Previ also asked about San Gwann, where, the minister said, there were 10,950 Maltese residents and 5,125 foreigners.
