Forgotten

How generous the Maltese are these days. Everyone knows of the flow of money pouring in to be distributed always to the same types of institutions.

But does the majority of these benefactors know about the forgotten ones, the dogs and cats roaming our streets hungry, sick and in a pitiful state?

Do these give a little thought about the suffering these endure during their lifetime in order to survive, besides the cruelty some inflict on them?

Except for the few here and there in Malta, nobody cares about them, whether politicians, local councils, the Church and whatever. The reason is that these creatures have no vote. Why is it that nobody suggests that from these sums of money, a fraction should be allocated to construct a decent animal sanctuary manned 24 hours a day for them.
