Fr Martin Borg appointed Mqabba parish priest

He takes over from Fr Blake Camilleri

Fr Martin Borg has been appointed the parish priest of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Mqabba.

Archbishop Charles Scicluna expressed his gratitude to Fr Blake Camilleri for his dedicated pastoral service to the community.

Fr Camilleri will now be focusing on his studies.

Fr Borg was born on November 6, 1957. He began his journey to the priesthood in the Order of the Discalced Carmelites and studied philosophy and theology at INSERM, and graduated in Pastoral Theology from the University of Malta.

He was ordained a priest on 10 July 1987.

At present, Fr Borg carries out pastoral work in the Cospicua Parish and also serves at St Paul’s Metropolitan Cathedral in Mdina.

He is also chaplain and confessor of the Discalced Carmelite nuns in Cospicua, as well as an extraordinary confessor of the Discalced Carmelite nuns in Tal-Virtù, Rabat.
