Malta’s top female tennis player, Francesca Curmi, added another prestigious title to her name after winning the International Tennis Federation W75 tournament that was held in the French city of Blois.

Curmi lifted the trophy after she defeated seventh seed Alevtina Ibragimova, of Russia, in straight sets, with a 6-3 7-5 scoreline.

It was another remarkable result for the Maltese player, who has been consistently competing in international tournaments throughout the year and further underscores the progress she has made in the last few years.

Curmi had started the tournament in some style when breezing past French player Astrid Lew Yan Foon 6-3 6-1 in the first round.

Next up was the tournament top seed Lola Radivojevic and here Curmi produced an impressive performance as she brushed aside the Serbian player 7-5 6-3.
