Franciscan community in Gozo hosts children from residential homes
Children enjoy afternoon of fun and laughter at Għajnsielem convent
On December 30, the Franciscan community of Għajnsielem came together with one heartfelt purpose: to bring joy, love and hope to children living in residential homes.
Rather than simply delivering gifts as they had done the previous year, the community decided to welcome the children into their own home.
To make this dream a reality, a Tree of Charity was set up at the church of St Anthony. Hanging from its branches were many tags, each one representing a donation needed to bring smiles, laughter and unforgettable moments to these children.

Laughter filled the convent’s parking area as the children met their favourite characters, bounced with excitement on bouncy castles, had their faces painted and marvelled at colourful balloon creations.
There were games, activities, Lorenzo the magician, food and drinks, and above all, a very joyful atmosphere.
The highlight of the activity came with the arrival of Santa Claus, who personally handed a gift to each child.
