Franco Frattini, the European Commissioner for Justice, Freedom and Security, arrives in Malta tomorrow for talks with Tonio Borg, Minister for Home Affairs and Justice, Michael Frendo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi. The main item on the agenda is illegal immigration in the Mediterranean.

Mr Frattini, a former Italian Foreign Minister, was appointed to the European Commission last November. He is also its vice-president.
