Business telephony customers can receive broadband internet for free from Sky Telecom. The offer, launched this week under the internet service for business brand "continues to drive down prices of communications", the company said in a statement.

A year since its launch, and still in a steep-growth mode, Sky has made its presence felt on the local market, according to managing director John Dougall.

"Looking back over the past 12 months, we have already witnessed a significant development in the market," he said. "Sky is the alternative telephone company operating on the fixed line network. Companies like our's traditionally drive down market prices and that is exactly what has happened in Malta over the past year."

Part of a telephone package bundle, Sky Telecom is offering unlimited 4096/512 Kbps DSL to customers who switch their lines to any of Sky's business telephony price plans.
