Chinese Embassy supports free hydrotherapy for disability card holders

The scheme allows disability card holders to use a heated therapeutic pool

The Chinese Embassy in Malta has signed an agreement with the Inspire Foundation to support access to free hydrotherapy services for disability card holders.

Treatment services will be financed by the embassy’s Ambassador’s Fund through the Inspire Foundation, the office of the Speaker announced in a statement announcing the agreement.

The embassy is providing €49,000 of support to the fund, which provides cardholders with free access to a therapeutic heated pool.

In addition to treatment services, the agreement also establishes a framework for monitoring the project in a bid to ensure transparency and accountability, the statement noted.

Speaker Anġlu Farrugia described the agreement as a tangible example of diplomacy enhancing cooperation between international partners and local organisations.

The agreement was signed by Farrugia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malta Zhang Zuo and Inspire Foundation Malta CEO Antonello Gauci.
