Freeport engineering section

The majority of employees in the engineering section of Malta Freeport Terminal have joined the parastatal section of the Union Haddiema Maghqudin, giving it the sole right to negotiate with the management on their behalf, the union said.

The union said its priorities were to negotiate a revised collective agreement as the former agreement had expired more than two years ago, and to find a better system by which to distribute engineering work.

The section and the Freeport engineering workers` committee are to start negotiations with the management today.
