The London-based Malta Charities Association has presented a donation to the Little Sisters of the Poor to help the sisters continue with their extensive project of rebuilding the home for the elderly in Hamrun.

Joe P. Farrugia, chairman of the association and committee members Mr and Mrs Michael Rapinett recently visited the home and presented the money to Mother Paul and Sr Aimee of the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Last November, Christine Debono, chairman of the Friends of the Little Sisters of the Poor, attended a ball held at The Landmark, London to raise money for the home.

The fund-raising would continue to ensure that the project would be completed as quickly as possible and two events would be held in Malta in the near future, Ms Debono said.
