Sandro Bugeja will be attempting a 50km run on Wednesday, starting from Cirkewwa at 7.30 a.m. and ending at Pretty Bay, Birzebbuga, at about noon.

The purpose is two-fold: firstly, the date is the anniversary of Sandro's father's passing away. John Bugeja was a sportsman, having represented Malta in the 1960 Rome Olympics and then moving on to being an official with various sports associations, including the Malta Olympic Committee.

Secondly, Sandro wants to use his sport as a sign of solidarity with those who are unable to share in the pleasure of running free on the open road. The intention is to raise money for the Eden Foundation, which is doing sterling work in opening new horizons for the disadvantaged and as such deserves all the support it can get, he said.

Anyone wishing to make a contribution may send a cheque, payable to the Eden Foundation, to Sandro Bugeja, 24 Valletta Road, Kirkop ZRQ 10.
