A fund to assist voluntary organisations in sustainability projects has been set up by the government.

Environment minister José Herrera said the fund, initially of €30,000, will be shared by organisations active in the social, economic and environmental fields whose projects contribute to the achievement of the Agenda 2030 sustainability targets.

The minister stressed that the private sector and NGOs had an important role, along with the government, in the achievement of the Agenda 2030 targets.

He said three projects will be selected, for implementation in 2018.
