Mission Fund will hold a weekend of activities today and tomorrow at Bay Street, St Julians, to raise money for its missionary work in Tanzania.
Activities will start at 10 a.m. and end at 9 p.m. on both days. Entertainment will be held between 7 and 9 p.m. today and between 3 and 6 p.m. tomorrow.
This year, the Mission Fund is working on a number of projects in Tanzania, where two Maltese missionaries live. Sr Domenica Ciliberti is based in Mwanza and works in a clinic which cares for some 400 people infected by AIDS, while Sr Maria Borda is a doctor responsible for about 170 hospital beds in Singida.
The Mission Fund plans to furnish Sr Domenica's clinic, continue working on a school it started last year, build a centre for homeless children, carry out maintenance works at Sr Maria's hospital and work at a lepers' village that houses young children and adults.
