Interpoint Design are launching their new concept store in San Gwann, which will be the flagship of a new franchise they are exporting to Dubai, the UK and Libya.

The franchise brings three exclusive brands, catering from contemporary furniture and home accessories at affordable prices to high-end designer items.

"Our aim is to sell our franchisees abroad not only an exclusive furniture franchise but also a culture, the Mediterranean feel of our homes," says managing director Mark Borg.

"Apart from selling an attitude however, breaking into the international market means we will benefit from economies of scale, making our line more competitive, both in terms of design and prices."

Through this retail franchise, the company will offer its franchisees logistical and administrative support and design consultancy; a combined system of purchasing and product storage through a centralised warehouse facility in Malta, agreements with major furniture design houses to buy new fast-moving products before they reach other mainstream stores, a product range that is designed and manufactured in-house and product items that on average are sold at less than five per cent of standard UK prices.

The three brands selling under the Interpoint Design franchise are The Furniture Store (TFS), retailing high-end designer furniture for modern minimalist living, The Kitchen Store (TKS), specialising in the retail of designer crockery and gadgets for the kitchen and Mass, the affordable range, offering a wide array of fashionable furniture.

"The franchising concept will soon hit the UK high streets in the coming months. Clients are interested to franchise such concepts because it doesn't only deal with selling furniture but selling the interior design concept with the culture of the Mediterranean ambience," said Matthew Borg, international franchising manager.
