The Times (December 4) featured an article entitled "Appeal to save Gallipoli vessel from development".

The article has described this sunken vessel as a "monument to Anzac troops" and further highlighted its importance by claiming that there is only one other known such vessel surviving. It is also a vivid testimony to the role Malta played in WWI and yet another link in our rich history. In view of all this, is it possible to have such a treasure raised to be enjoyed by all? It would certainly be a prominent feature in the historic maritime environment being developed in Cottonera.

Well, funding such a venture is definitely a problem. However, I am very confident that if such a project were to be considered both Australia and New Zealand would be willing to contribute to such a memorial venture.
