Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide recently appointed Michael Camilleri Kamsky as general manager of the Westin Dragonara Resort.

Mr Camilleri Kamsky started his career with Starwood Hotels and Resorts as director of sales and marketing at the Westin Dragonara Resort in 2003. He became hotel manager in June 2007.

Camilleri Kamsky's experience in the travel industry goes back many years, when he joined the airline industry in 1968 and launched various marketing departments within Air Malta.

He was country manager for Switzerland and France based in Zurich and Paris respectively. This was followed by a five-year stint in Australia in the airline travel industry.

In 1987, as general manager, he set up Virtù Ferries and was later instrumental in establishing Emirates Airlines online services to Malta.
