Renowned international software developer GFI has sacked 12 employees and more redundancies are in the pipeline.

GFI Malta general manager Josef Calleja confirmed the redundancies when contacted. “Regretfully, a very small number of roles are being made redundant in Malta,” he said.

He would not make any further comments, not even to confirm that the number of employees who had been made redundant so far were 12 in total.

GFI has offices in Malta, London, North Carolina, Hong Kong and Australia.

Just a few months ago, the company which was growing rapidly moved out of its large complex in San Ġwann and moved to larger premises in Mrieħel.
