Għajnsielem association celebrates 10th anniversary
Sinfonia del Sole Association a pioneer of feast spectacles in Gozo
The Sinfonia del Sole Association of Għajnsielem recently organised a photo exhibition at St Joseph Band Club to mark the 10th anniversary of the association’s foundation.
The celebratory exhibition represented a journey filled with hard work, dedication and love for the feast of Our Lady of Loreto and the village of Għajnsielem.
Founded in 2016 by a group of enthusiastic young people, Sinfonia del Sole began with an innovative display of synchronised cards set to music, which quickly became one of the most talked-about spectacles.
Over the years, the association continued to grow and invest in new ideas and ambitious projects, from light, fire and music shows to cultural and educational initiatives, including the Holy Family statue project and the ‘Għajnsielem Kidz’ programme.
Through continuous work and a spirit of innovation, today the association is known as one of the pioneers of feast spectacles in Gozo.
The exhibition offers a unique look at the association’s work, both behind the scenes – where ideas are born and carried out with great commitment – and at the results of this work, which enhance the Għajnsielem feast with beautiful and lively spectacles.
A section of the exhibition brings together photos contributed by villagers, thus building a collective memory that continues to strengthen the community’s identity.
At the same time, there is a space dedicated to the ‘Għajnsielem Kidz’ initiative, a programme through which Sinfonia del Sole teaches children about the feast and the value of volunteering, investing in future generations.
During the opening of the exhibition, the association launched a new logo.
On behalf of the association’s secretary, Estelle Scicluna, who was absent, treasurer Luke Buttigieg said: “Sinfonia del Sole is beginning a new chapter in its history through the introduction of its new logo and identity.
“This rebranding is not just about changing a logo, but about reflecting who we are today and where we want to go in the future.
“The logo we see today symbolises not only what we have done, but also what we still want to build together.”
Buttigieg added that this marked an important step – a new beginning, the start of another chapter where Sinfonia del Sole continues to grow and aspire, always for the benefit of the feast in honour of Our Lady of Loreto and the community.
