Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi toured farmers at Zebbiegh this morning and literally got a taste of Maltese agriculture, demonstrating a fondness for broad beans.

He stressed his message that the Nationalist Party viewed agriculture as an important component of the Maltese economy and the environment.

He praised farmers for the way they had improved their products and become more competitive and said a future PN government would continue to help them towards this end.

He said the governemnt also recognised the important role which farmers played for the protection of the environment and pointed out that the PN was the only party promising to invest €300m in the environment in the next legislature.
