Government endorsing illegalities with activities at Montecristo - Mario Galea

Nationalist MP Mario Galea today called for Montekristo Estates to be boycotted and criticised the authorities including the Office of the President for organising activities at this place, which housed an illegal zoo.

Speaking during the Budget debate in Parliament, he said that holding activities  there showed that the government was endorsing these illegalities.

Animals at risk of extinction, he said, could be found in Malta.

Illegal zoos, Mr Galea said, were sprouting all over the island and something had to be done.

He also called on the ministry to investigate an allegation that horses were being slaughtered illegally in Zebbug and introduced in the food chain.
