The government's recurrent revenue in the first eight months of this year reached Lm530.5 million and made up 58.9 per cent of this year's budget forecast.
The National Statistics Office said that compared to the same period last year, this represents an increase of Lm61.5 million, or 13.1 per cent.
At the same time, total expenditure amounted to Lm621.6 million, an increase of Lm39.9 million, or 6.8 per cent, from the Lm581.8 million expended in the same period in 2004.
The shortfall between recurrent revenue and total expenditure in the period under review amounted to Lm91.1 million this year, against Lm112.8 million one year ago.
